The therapeutic coaching model is a talking-centred form of therapy that draws on various tools and modalities. These include but are not limited to:

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis for therapeutic purposes, allowing us to work with the unconscious mind. We do so either through accessing a natural trance state where we are more in touch with our unconscious mind (which is responsible for controlling most of our behaviours in life) or through being able to change our behaviours in a more conscious state. The experience and effects of hypnosis can be subtle or overt, but at all times the client is in control.

NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming)

Often described as The User Manual for the Mind, NLP is the science of understanding how people create their experience of the world, and how this can be changed and reshaped. It was originally created by Dr. Richard Bandler and Dr. John Grinder in the 1970’s, and has since been further developed by a number of different clinicians and practitioners. NLP effectively provides the tools and processes to work with clients’ conscious and unconscious minds. NLP is most famous for its ability to wipe out life long phobias in as little as a few minutes, but it has groundbreaking applications in a whole range of therapeutic areas. Life Coaching

Life Coaching is the process of finding out where someone is in their life, where they want to be, and helping them forge a plan to get there. Providing a more solution oriented model than traditional psychotherapy, Life Coaching is a crucial tool in ensuring that changes are not just theoretical, but have a clear actionable plan in the client’s daily life.

Mindfulness

The practice of mindfulness is about learning to hold our attention present to this moment and what is immediately in front of it. It allows us to effectively be in the now, reconnect with our intuition and decision-making capacities, and enhance mental and emotional wellbeing.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

EFT, or “tapping”, is a powerful tool combining ancient acupressure meridians with modern western psychology. It can have truly remarkable results on many physical, emotional and mental issues, as well as simply calming the central nervous system and creating balance. It can also be taught for personal use outside the therapeutic environment. EFT works on the premise that all negative emotion is stored as an imbalance in the energy system. Therefore, by tuning into emotional issues, and then tapping on various meridian points, it is possible to help people let go of issues or memories that they have felt inhibited by.
